Youth sport injury is on the rise. What can you do?

The Chicago Tribune hosted a nationwide ‘Live Chat’ on January 18, 2011 featuring Athletic Revolution co-founder, Brian Grasso. Grasso, the founder and CEO of the International Youth Conditioning Association, answered questions from parents around the country during the 60 minute segment on injury prevention in youth sports. Due to the wintry mix on Tuesday, we were able to join in.

The topics that surfaced during the live chat moderated by Julie Deardorff of the Chicago Tribune, included sport specific training, improving endurance and overall performance through a wide range of athletic activities, dietary supplements, overall nutrition, strength training in the weight room, concussions and other injuries and their preventative factors, and the value of free play.
